How to delete your account

There are two ways. Either one works, and neither costs anything.

What is deleted

When your app account is deleted:

• your sign-in credentials for the app are removed;
• the gym can no longer send notifications to your device;
• your device stops being linked to your membership.

A record of failed attempts to link a membership is kept against the telephone number rather than against the account, because it is what stops somebody guessing their way into a membership. It is not a record of your account and is not removed by deleting it.

Separately, and at any time, you can ask us to delete the face template held on the entrance terminal. It is deleted on request, and you can still enter by asking at the reception desk.

What is kept, and why

Deleting the app account does not erase the gym's own records of your membership. The following are kept:

• Membership, payment and attendance records — kept for as long as the purpose they were collected for continues, and for the period required by accounting and taxation law;
• Your Personal Number (CPR) particulars and photograph — the gym is required, as a condition of its licensing, to hold these so they are available to a competent authority in the event of an incident or investigation;
• Closed-circuit television recordings — kept for one year and then archived.

Records relating to a membership that has ended are separated from the gym's day-to-day records and are only looked at where one of those purposes requires it.

If you want those records erased too

You have the right under the Personal Data Protection Law of the Kingdom of Bahrain to ask for your personal data to be erased where it is no longer needed for the purpose it was collected for, or where it is being processed unlawfully.
